Statement

Photographs from the series “Walls” were taken in Bombay, India. The choice of walls as a subject matter was very intuitive - I felt them.

The street walls were physically exposed and seemed to convey a history and possibly a story about their age, life and the many people that interact with them.

From this perspective these are not only portraits of the Walls in and of themselves, but also portraits of the people that live, encompass and pervade the walls.

I view the Walls as having a character that has developed with an embracing environment and life that surrounds them.

The photographed Walls can also be viewed from a direct visual reference by noting the painting like quality and abstract style.
